our story
Born in the Amazon. Built for Every Girl.
Goleadoras was founded by Eglantina Zingg, a former MTV host and lifelong soccer player who grew up in the Amazon rainforest. Her earliest friendships were formed not through shared language, but through a ball—and that connection grew into a vision for a movement.
From grassroots beginnings in Venezuela, Goleadoras has become an international platform powered by the belief that sport can bridge divides and transform lives.Goleadoras is a global nonprofit that empowers girls through the game of soccer—blending play and emotional learning to unlock confidence, leadership, and possibility.
According to a 2015 EY study, 94% of female leaders in C-Suite roles played sports.
Yet, millions of girls globally still lack access to safe, inclusive spaces to play. Goleadoras exists to change this. Access to play is access to possibility.

If Girls Are Left Off the Field, They’re Left Out of the Future
Girls around the world are told, explicitly or implicitly, that they don’t belong on the field—or in leadership roles. Goleadoras exists to change that narrative. We know that when girls are given tools, connection, and visibility, they rise—and they bring their communities with them.
